The Morgan Lewis community mourns the loss of our friend and partner Julian Goodman, who passed away after a brief and aggressive illness. Julian joined Morgan Lewis in 2014 as a partner along with his colleagues in the firm’s structured transaction practice and was based in the firm’s London office, where he focused on real estate matters. He was known as a gentleman and amazing colleague whose sense of humanity and humor could lighten the mood even in the most difficult situations.
Julian was a trusted adviser to investment banks, navigating them through the real estate aspects of property finance loan origination, commercial mortgage-backed securities and residential mortgage-backed securities transactions, structured real estate transactions, real estate acquisition, and development finance. Over his 38 years at the bar, Julian became a well-known and highly-regarded practitioner who was also an extremely kind man who made everyone feel valued and special. Julian was a devoted husband to his wife Juliet and father to his three children, George, Anna, and William.
Julian was widely loved and respected, and we were very fortunate to call him our partner for a decade.
