Nick has advised clients on complex cross-border transactions around the globe, including advising clients on establishing and investing in new jurisdictions (including China Telecom, TATA, TUI Travel, Sojitz, Hershey, Tabcorp and Global Eagle Entertainment). He has particular interest in the telecoms and technology sectors, including work for Telefónica Spain, O2, China Telecom, and Virgin Connect. Nick’s experience in the financial services and fintech sector covers banks, investment banks, and insurers, including TSB on its separation from Lloyds, Williams & Glyn on its proposed separation from RBS, and some of the largest-ever transactions in the UK insurance market including the merger of Allied Zurich and Zurich Allies to create Zurich Financial Services and the acquisition by Swiss Re of GE's UK business. He has a track record in high-stakes contentious M&A in the emerging markets, including advising Onexim Holdings on its £11 billion split from Interros Holdings and the resulting division of assets and advice to Renaissance Capital and A1 on portfolio acquisitions and special situations across Africa and Eastern Europe. Recent transactions in the life sciences sector include matters for Eli Lilly, 23andMe, and Advanz Pharma.

  • Acquisition of TechniVal Group Limited, a service provider and distributor of laboratory equipment serving life science, R&D, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies throughout the United Kingdom
• Advanz Pharma in the acquisition of a portfolio of generic drugs from Sanofi
• Brink’s Limited in its $179 million acquisition of NoteMachine, an operator of ATMs
• Advanz Pharma in its agreement with Eisai Co., Ltd to acquire rights for the antiseizure drug Zonegran (zonisamide) in the European Union, Middle East, and Australia
• VEON Ltd, a global provider of connectivity and internet services, in the sale of its CJSC VEON Armenia subsidiary to Team LLC
• TradingScreen, Inc., a provider of SaaS-based technology for financial markets, in the $128 million sale of majority interest in BidFX Systems Limited to the Singapore Exchange
• Eli Lilly and Company in its collaboration and license agreement valued up to $1.2 billion with Evox Therapeutics to leverage Evox's proprietary DeliverEX™ platform for the potential treatment of neurological disorders
• Advanz Pharma in its $84 million acquisition of the rights to the Alpprostadil product portfolio, consisting of two established injectable formulations for the treatment of peripheral arterial occlusive disease, from UCB Pharma
• Telefónica Spain on its agreement to sell Telefónica UK (O2) to Hutchison Whampoa, parent company of UK telecom operator Three, for consideration of approximately £10 billion
• CBRE on the acquisition of the Johnson Controls global property consultancy business for approximately $1.5 billion
• Tata Motors on the aspects of its $2.3 billion acquisition of Land Rover and Jaguar from Ford Motors
