05 mai 2020

SAN FRANCISCO, May 5, 2020: Concurrent with its 10th annual Technology May-rathon, Morgan Lewis has launched ML Women in Tech with the mission of promoting and supporting a community of women in technology, both within and outside of the firm. Composed of diverse cross-practice and cross-office teams, this group follows the successful track record of the firm’s ML Women network, harnessing the strength of Morgan Lewis women through partnerships with firm clients to create new opportunities for growth and innovation.

“Our lawyers include some of the leading women in the technology space who, through this initiative, will pool their experience and passion for the tech sector to better serve the companies that are changing the world,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Our hope for this group is also to create a network that will both educate and prepare the next women leaders in the industry.”

Led by Catherine Wang, also co-chair of Morgan Lewis’s Technology Industry Team, together with Natalie Bennett, Emily Lowe, and Krista Venegas, ML Women in Tech is creating a series of events detailing hot topics, strengthening existing partnerships with relevant networking groups such as the ChIPS organization, and sharing information and resources to raise the visibility of female leaders in this space. The firm’s 2020 Technology May-rathon features some 30 events with Women in Tech speakers.

“In order to provide global insight to our technology clients, whether they are promising startups or multinational giants, we are combining the skill sets of our women whose practices touch the tech sector across disciplines and borders,” Catherine said. “This business-focused approach to technology is evident in both the mission of Women in Tech and throughout our signature May-rathon series, which in its 10th year will tackle the unique challenges the COVID-19 pandemic presents to the technology industry.”
