With a background in both circuit design and software design, Gary S. Williams concentrates his intellectual property (IP) practice on patent prosecution and licensing matters that involve a range of technologies, including electronics, computer architecture, computer software, human-computer interfaces, digital signal processing, and integrated circuit memory design. Gary focuses primarily on patent prosecution, IP strategy counseling, and patent and software licensing.
The author and prosecutor of thousands of patent applications, Gary also conducts patent reexaminations, oppositions, and reissue applications. Gary’s clients turn to him to oversee large portfolios of domestic and foreign parents. He has also participated in dozens of prelitigation patent infringement and validity studies.
Prior to entering law school, Gary designed and upgraded computer-aided design software for semiconductor maker Signetics Corp.; and designed MOS dynamic memories for both Signetics and microcontroller manufacturer Zilog Inc.
Gary was a partner at an IP boutique before joining Morgan Lewis. He is a member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
