Eric J. Pennesi represents clients in technology transactions and other strategic commercial contract matters. Eric brings a practical, collaborative approach to helping clients achieve their commercial goals while managing risk. Eric regularly counsels clients on transactions involving software as a service (SaaS) and other cloud technologies; software and intellectual property licensing; advertising and marketing services for online and traditional media; product and technology development, manufacture, and distribution; data rights and protections; artificial intelligence; technology transfer and commercialization; consulting, support, and other professional services; and managed services and outsourcing arrangements.
As part of his practice, Eric provides counsel on structuring and documenting complex commercial relationships for a broad client base that ranges from global ecommerce and retail companies, manufacturers, financial service providers, and life sciences companies to startup and growth-stage biotech, fintech, and other technology companies. He also works with clients on legal issues that arise in connection with the design and operation of their websites, platforms, and other online solutions, including issues related to advertising, payment processing, terms of service and subscription agreements, data collection and use, technology interfaces and integrations, and acquiring and using third-party content and materials.
