Daniel J. Tarr serves clients primarily in patent counseling and procurement, post-grant review proceedings, patent litigation and prelitigation disputes, IP due diligence, and day-to-day counseling on patent portfolio management and harvesting. He has a strong background in electrical, computer, and mechanical arts, with a specific focus on artificial intelligence, including machine learning, natural language processing, and speech recognition, communication systems, and medical implants and devices.
Dan’s diverse technology experience also includes global positioning satellite systems, wireless communication systems, cellular communication systems, radio-frequency identification systems, near-field communication systems, medical implants, endoscopic surgical devices, robotic surgical systems, semiconductor devices and manufacturing, light emitting diodes, image processing, printing systems, image recognition, database management, guided wave systems, smart cards, distributed ledgers, and consumer products, among others.
Dan also supports his clients in a variety of technology-related transactional matters, such as software licensing agreements and patent and related know-how licenses, portfolio acquisitions, and investment funding. He also has an active pro bono practice focused on asylum and citizenship issues.
