Morgan Lewis, Villanova Law Tackle Social Justice, COVID-19 Impact on Sports at 10th Annual Moorad Symposium

PHILADELPHIA, March 22, 2021: At the 2021 Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal symposium, Morgan Lewis partners Grace Speights and Baird Fogel will tackle some of the most relevant issues facing the sports industry today. The symposium, “Entering the New Sports Normal,” will feature panel discussions on COVID-19 in sports; name, image, likeness, and the amateur athlete; and social justice in sports. Jeff Moorad, head of Morgan Lewis’s global sports industry team, will kick off the 10th annual event, which features three panels over three days.

During the social justice and sports panel, Grace will address the heightened role of sports in social justice movements, along with a Hall of Fame broadcaster and the CEO of the Global Sport Institute. On the COVID-19 impact on sports panel, Baird will join executives from USA Track & Field, the National Lacrosse League, and the NBA to discuss the challenges posed by the pandemic and how sports leagues developed policies to protect athletes and return to playing.
