24th Annual Institute on Securities Regulation in Europe: Practical Implications of US Law on EU Practice

Securities partner Carolyn Welshhans will be speaking at the Practising Law Institute’s (PLI’s) 24th Annual Institute on Securities Regulation in Europe: Practical Implications of US Law on EU Practice. This conference offers a unique focus on the application of US securities law in the UK and EU and features a faculty of leading practitioners, in-house counsel, and government regulators who will address recent developments in global capital markets activity and enforcement and offer practical guidance for companies and financial institutions across Europe, the United States, and beyond.

Carolyn’s panel Enforcement Programmes and Priorities in the US and UK will take place February 26 at 2:00 pm GMT. Panelists will describe recent investigations and explain charging and settlement issues that arise in multi-country enforcement, explain cooperation and coordination strategies that exist between US and UK regulators as contrasted with cumulative enforcement, and assess UK and US regulator expectations of companies in responding to investigations.
