The Legal Intelligencer Recognizes Morgan Lewis in 2024 Pennsylvania Legal Awards

PHILADELPHIA, March 13, 2024: Morgan Lewis has been named the winner in five categories and a finalist in four others, including Law Firm of the Year, for The Legal Intelligencer’s 2024 Pennsylvania Legal Awards. The annual awards recognize the achievements of lawyers and law firms in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

The firm’s Pennsylvania labor and employment practice has been named Litigation Department of the Year for employment law in recognition of a series of wins for clients, including helping a large retailer resolve a gender discrimination case brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and a group of plaintiffs that had been pending for more than a decade as well as securing dismissal with prejudice of a discrimination and retaliation lawsuit for a security and aerospace company.

Partner J. Gordon Cooney Jr. has been named a Distinguished Leader for his decade-long leadership of the firm’s global litigation practice. Gordon routinely leads cross-office teams in complex representations and has helped oversee the addition of scores of litigation lateral partners globally, while fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and community service.

Valerie Pearce, the firm’s chief real estate, procurement, and operations officer, has been named an Unsung Hero for her work overseeing multiple facets of the relocation of the firm’s Philadelphia office to 2222 Market Street.

Partners Eric Kim and Rachel Lewis have each been named a Lawyer on the Fast Track, which honor leading lawyers under the age of 40. Eric has led the representation of high-stakes employment disputes related to wage and hour, systemic discrimination, whistleblower retaliation, and hostile workplace culture claims. Rachel represents companies in corporate real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, leasing, development, and financing of commercial properties ranging from multifamily housing and office buildings to industrial complexes, retail centers, and mixed-use projects.

Honorees will be recognized and winners announced at a May 15 awards dinner in Philadelphia.
