      The Beijing office is part of our Greater China Practice, an interdisciplinary group composed of partners from our Intellectual Property, Litigation, and Business and Finance Practices. We focus on both foreign direct investment into China by global companies and the expansion of leading Chinese companies into the United States, Europe, and Japan.

  • Dallas

      The Dallas office includes lawyers specializing in four main areas of law: employee benefits and ESOPs, labor and employment, intellectual property, and outsourcing and technology-enabled transactions law.

      Our lawyers in the Employee Benefits Practice bring experience and creativity to both their ESOP and ERISA clients. We represent companies, fiduciaries, and lenders in complex ESOP transactions across the country. Our experience spans the practice from structuring to working with the IRS and other federal agencies. In our ESOP practice, we have represented banks and private equity funds wishing to invest in ESOP companies and have helped ESOP companies access such investors. Our ERISA practice lawyers work with many other benefits lawyers in Morgan Lewis's worldwide offices to bring a level of sophistication, knowledge, and experience few firms can offer. We also work with our Litigation Practice to address ESOP and ERISA controversies.

      Our Labor and Employment Practice assists employers in developing and implementing effective plans for addressing the changing landscape of legal risks they face.   • Frankfurt

      Opened in 1989, the Frankfurt office is a highly specialized office concentrating on projects and transactions (in particular private equity / M&A), financial services advice, tax, labor and employment, antitrust law, IT & IP, real estate, and litigation services. Lawyers are qualified to practice both German and U.S. law and are able to handle its assignments, simultaneously, in German and English. Morgan Lewis has an active German Practice that includes lawyers in several different offices in Europe and the U.S. In Frankfurt we offer you collaboration in a small excellent team, which is integrated in our international network.

  • Harrisburg
      The Harrisburg office opened in 1961 to serve the needs of clients headquartered in Pennsylvania, as well as out-of-state and international companies with operations in the Commonwealth. The practice initially encompassed Pennsylvania legislative and regulatory matters. The office has grown to include energy regulation, environmental matters, labor and employment, business and tax, and litigation.

  • Houston

      The Houston office has experienced significant growth since its opening in January 2007. With the beginning of 2008, 10 new partners joined our Houston office, along with two of counsel and several associates, increasing our size to 42 lawyers.

      As part of an effort to better serve our clients in the south and central United States, our expansion included the addition of several partners from the Houston offices of prominent national firms, allowing us to better respond to business growth and expanding client needs in both the United States and abroad.

      Lawyers in our Houston office focus on intellectual property and patent litigation, commercial litigation, product liability and toxic tort, mergers and acquisitions, international/cross border transactions, and insurance recovery.

  • Irvine

      The Irvine office opened its doors in February 2003. Located in Orange County, the office focuses principally on the real estate industry. Lawyers in this office provide the full range of real estate services, including: real property ownership, development and operations (including all forms and varieties of land use planning and entitlement; acquisition, disposition, financing and leasing activities; and strategic counseling and representation). Our attorneys work on matters ranging from the entitlement of large-scale master planned communities to sophisticated infrastructure development and/or project financing, together with the overall management and day-to-day operations of sophisticated joint venture, limited liability and similar ownership vehicles.   • London

      Our London office is made up of lawyers that practice both English and American law. The office was opened in 1981 and works closely with our other offices to service the needs of our international clients accessing the markets in the US, UK and elsewhere in Europe.

      Our lawyers advise on the establishment, operation and financing of businesses in the UK covering mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and debt and equity financings in the public and private markets, including listing on the London Stock Exchange as well as a specialist pharmaceutical and biotech team. In addition we have a strong outsourcing team that is closely integrated with our US and European offices.

      Our cross-border transactional practice includes the representation of large- and medium-sized US, UK and other European companies in public and private debt and equities financings in the US, including SEC registered offerings and listings on the NYSE and NASDAQ.

      Our international tax practice provides UK and US planning and structuring advice for companies and individuals involved in cross-border situations.

      Our strong UK litigation team assists clients from around the world in commercial disputes including arbitration in the UK or under English law.

      Our office expanded this year to include our new Labour and Employment Law Practice focusing on litigation, employment issues in corporate and sourcing transactions and data privacy issues.

  • Los Angeles

      The Los Angeles office, located in the downtown financial district, opened in 1976. With more than 90 lawyers, the office has a full-service practice with particular emphasis on corporate and securities matters, litigation, energy and infrastructure finance, insurance coverage litigation, environmental, mergers and acquisitions, tax, real estate and real estate finance, and labor and employment law.

      The ever-expanding client base includes investment and commercial banks, independent power producers, oil and gas companies, broker-dealers, hedge and investment funds, insurance companies, industrial companies, real estate owners, investors and managers, entrepreneurs, foreign companies and individuals, developers and financiers, exempt organizations, airlines, hospitals, public utilities, syndicates of foreign investors, life sciences companies and technology companies.

      Approximately 90 lawyers practice in Los Angeles. Historically, 6 summer associates, 4 entry-level associates and 5-12 lateral associates are hired each year. There are approximately 12 non-lawyer legal staff, with administrative staff numbering approximately 70.

  • Miami

      Morgan Lewis is a unique place to work in Miami for those who seek to work with substantial clients on legal matters of national and international scope. Recognizing Miami as a gateway for global business, Morgan Lewis opened the Miami office in 1977 and became the first national law firm to enter the South Florida market. The firm’s client-focused culture and global legal talent have propelled the Miami office’s success in the market.

      Partners and associates in our Miami office’s complex commercial litigation, securities, and labor and employment practices excel in summarily defeating civil class and collective actions brought against our clients. Our attorneys also handle high-powered transactions in real estate law and advise top investment management clients.

      Key to our office’s continued success is our attorneys' commitment to business and community leadership. Our attorneys founded and manage the South Florida Group of Regional Counsel, a professional association for in-house counsel to multinationals, with regional headquarters in Miami. One of our attorneys also spearheaded a joint venture between the American Arbitration Association and the Inter-American Bar Association to make Miami a headquarters for international commercial arbitration. Similarly, another attorney helped found LegalLine of Miami-Dade, the region’s only free legal help-line.       We opened our Palo Alto office in February 2003.       The Paris office is one of four in Europe, including offices in London, Frankfurt, and Brussels.       A majority of the lawyers in the Paris office are members of Morgan Lewis’s Business and Finance Practice. The Paris office's white collar crime litigation team represents and advises companies and individuals on matters such as stock exchange regulation, liability of statutory auditors, corporate investigations, industrial liability and environment law, public/private contract law, trade agreements, press rectification, employment litigation, new technology, and urban planning and development.

      The public and environmental law team advises on all aspects of public law, including regulatory as well as environmental law, on both advisory and litigation matters. In particular, this team focuses on PPP/PFI, concessions, and all administrative contracts.



  • Philadelphia
      The Philadelphia office of Morgan Lewis opened in 1873, as the firm's first office. It grew quickly due to the vision of Charles Eldridge Morgan Jr., Francis Draper Lewis and Morris Rex Bockius. By the 1930s, the office had a full-service practice, that served as the base on which the firm has grown. Today, lawyers in Philadelphia serve businesses and individuals whose interests are focused in the region and beyond.

      Today, approximately 300 lawyers practice in Philadelphia, making the office one of the three largest in the firm. Historically, 15 to 25 summer associates, 15 to 25 entry-level associates and 20 to 40 lateral associates are hired each year.

  • Washington, D.C.

      The firm's Washington, D.C. office opened in 1947, beginning with regulatory work in energy and tax, and later cultivating a preeminent Labor and Employment practice. In 1994, the office sprang forward with a major expansion of the firm's Energy, Investment Management, and Intellectual Property practices. Other strong practice groups of the Washington office include Antitrust, FDA/Healthcare Regulation, Financial Services, Litigation, Real Estate, and Tax. Today, more than 250 lawyers practice in Washington, D.C.
