Congress Is Watching: How to Prepare If You Get the Call

Thursday, February 1, 2024
01:00 PM - 02:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

Please join us for an hourlong webinar on key issues that will likely continue to be subject to vigorous oversight from the House and Senate. We will also discuss best practices for responding to a congressional inquiry or subpoena and give guidance on how to testify before a congressional committee.

These topics are critically important as the 118th Congress enters 2024 in a state of flux, with many key issues unresolved, a new House speaker, no shortage of controversies involving major companies, and the November elections looming large. Legislative agendas will be difficult to push forward and various congressional committees will likely increase oversight and exercise their investigative authority.

The last year has also shown that House and Senate hearings involve significant stakes and warrant effective preparation and concrete guidance from skilled legal advisors who have testified in congressional hearings and handled congressional investigations.

TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

  • Investments in or by non-US companies
  • Evolving workplace safety and labor/management relations
  • Focus on ESG and climate initiative "collusion"
  • Congressional attention on higher education
  • Emerging opportunities and challenges presented by generative artificial intelligence
  • How to prepare and respond to congressional or government interest

CLE credit: CLE credit in CA, CT, FL, IL, NJ (via reciprocity), NY, PA, and TX is currently pending approval.
