Jim Garrity

Bankruptcy and restructuring partner Jim Garrity was recently sworn in as a bankruptcy judge for the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Jim is a former co-leader of our bankruptcy and restructuring practice. He has represented debtors, creditors, and court-appointed fiduciaries in Chapter 11 and cross-border cases, and is a certified mediator for the bankruptcy court in the SDNY.

Tony Pavel

FDA partner Tony Pavel has joined Cargill, Inc.—one of the world’s largest food and agriculture companies—as the company’s lead food lawyer for North America. Tony joined the firm in 2012 as part of a team of recognized food-and-drug lawyers and was a critical contributor to the growth of our FDA practice.

Litigation partner Kathleen Waters joined client Health Net, Inc. in April as Senior Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel. Health Net is a publicly traded managed healthcare organization that is currently ranked #254 on the Fortune 500 list of corporations. Kathleen is among only a few women who serve in this role in a public company of this size and scope.

Mark Taylor

IP partner Mark Taylor has been appointed a Senior Attorney in Microsoft’s patent litigation group, where he will work with outside counsel to manage patent disputes. Mark focused on patent litigation at the firm, advising clients in all phases of patent enforcement matters in various US district courts and at the International Trade Commission. He has also counseled clients regarding management of patent and product portfolios.
