Morgan Lewis sponsored the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) "Creating Pathways to Diversity" Conference and Gala Awards Ceremony on June 29-30 in Washington, DC. Several Morgan Lewis lawyers and clients attended the educational conference that promoted the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. Featured seminars included discussions on global diversity, inclusive leadership, and talent optimization. IP partner Susan Baker Manning (WA) was a panelist, speaking on Marriage Equality and Its Implications just a few days after the US Supreme Court’s decision to uphold marriage equality. Following the conference, MCCA held a gala awards ceremony at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. At the gala, MCCA recognized the Hon. Deval L. Patrick, former governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with the Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given to an individual who made significant advancements in engendering a society that fully appreciates, celebrates, and recognizes the value of diversity.
