NEW YORK, July 20, 2022: Morgan Lewis has been recognized by The American Lawyer’s Pro Bono Scorecard among the law firms most committed to providing pro bono legal services in 2021.
With more than 100,000 hours dedicated to supporting the communities most in need of free legal counsel, the firm topped the annual list of 117 legal services providers whose US-based lawyers contributed an average of more than 20 hours of pro bono service in the Scorecard’s “breadth of commitment” category. Morgan Lewis also climbed six spots in the Scorecard’s national rankings to secure the #11 spot and secured the #3 spot in the survey’s international rankings of US firms.
In fiscal year 2021, Morgan Lewis lawyers contributed no-cost, critical legal services to families, individuals, and nonprofit organizations confronting a number of the year’s most urgent crises. These included the ongoing pandemic, an increased focus on racial injustice, extreme weather disasters, and the Afghan refugee emergency.
Morgan Lewis’s primary pro bono focus is on helping economically disadvantaged individuals and families as well as nonprofit and nongovernmental groups that serve vulnerable populations. This important work includes the firm’s annual Community Impact Week, when lawyers and professional staff participate in a dedicated series of events—including legal clinics, legal trainings, panel discussions, charity drives, and more—across the firm’s offices in North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
