Sujohn Das counsels clients in a wide array of intellectual property (IP) matters, including the acquisition of IP, management and growth of patent portfolios, and strategies for protection of IP, including IP litigation. He focuses his practice particularly on oilfield services and medical device companies.
Sujohn’s experience includes representing US and foreign clients in the aerospace, automotive, medical device, oil and gas, and software industries. He skillfully drafts and prosecutes utility patent applications while advising clients throughout each stage of growth with respect to the development of inventions, patent strategy, and patent portfolio management.
He focuses his counseling practice on guiding clients in addressing questions of patentability and navigating the need to have freedom-to-operate in view of competitors’ patents. Additionally, he has assisted numerous clients with due diligence related to the acquisition and divestiture of IP assets.
Further, he has supported clients through adversarial proceedings, whether they are enforcing their patent rights or defending against allegations of patent infringement. By leveraging his patent prosecution experience, he has formulated effective infringement, non-infringement, and invalidity arguments in federal court, US International Trade Commission, US Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and US Patent and Trademark Office proceedings, including inter partes reviews, post-grant reviews, and reexaminations.
Prior to practicing law, Sujohn worked at a multinational technology company. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
