Julie S. Goldemberg represents clients in patent, trademark, trade secret, and other intellectual property matters and co-leads Morgan Lewis’s Federal Circuit practice and education industry team. Building on her background in electrical engineering, she has experience litigating traditional patent infringement cases, Hatch-Waxman cases, and trade secret misappropriation cases in US federal district courts and state courts and at the US International Trade Commission at all stages, from the time of filing to the completion of appeals at the US Supreme Court. Prior to joining the firm, Julie clerked for Chief Judge Sharon Prost of the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Julie has years of trial and appellate experience. She has first chaired jury trials and directed and cross-examined fact and expert witnesses. Julie regularly argues before the Federal Circuit and has handled patent-related appeals before the US Supreme Court. She represents clients in Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission and in post-grant proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office. Julie has been involved in some of the most high-profile recent cases involving 35 USC § 101 and enablement before the Federal Circuit and the US Supreme Court. Her legal accomplishments have earned Julie recognition as a Rising Star by Law360 (2021) and as a Lawyer on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer (2020). In 2022, she was recognized as an IP Patent Star in Pennsylvania by Managing Intellectual Property.
Julie dedicates significant time to her pro bono work. Fluent in Spanish, she has worked to help reunite separated Spanish-speaking migrant parents and children while also providing legal advice in Spanish to detainees at the Port Isabel Detention Center near Los Fresnos, Texas. She received an Excellence in Pro Bono Award for her efforts. Julie also co–first chaired a federal jury trial in conjunction with the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania’s Prisoner Civil Rights Panel. She holds two bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering and economics.
